Hi-Tec White Oils are highly refined mineral oils that consist of saturated aliphatic and alicyclic non-polar hydrocarbons. They are hydrophobic and essentially colourless, tasteless and odourless. Their colour remains stable over time.
FOOD STATUS: Hi-Tec White Oils meet or pass the requirements of US F&DA regulations 21 CFR 172.878 and 178.3620(a) for direct food contact, and the purity requirements of the British Pharmacopoeia monograph “Light Liquid Paraffin” and the United States Pharmacopeia Monograph “Mineral Oil”.
Hi-Tec White Oils have a shelf life of up to two years from the date of manufacture, provided they are stored in a closed container away from heat and moisture.
White Oils meet or pass the requirements of US FDA regulations 21 CFR 172.878 and 178.3620(a) for
direct food contact, and the purity requirements of the British Pharmacopoeia monograph “Liquid
Paraffin” and the United States Pharmacopeia monograph “Mineral Oil”.
Pharmaceutical and food applications, including petroleum jelly manufacture, dough dividing, defoamer,
bakery pan oils, coating for fruit and vegetables, egg shell sealants and as a bases for ointments, suntan
lotions and baby oils.
Other applications include food machinery lubricants, as a dehydration release agents, as a plasticisers,
in hot melt adhesives, insulation applications, compressor oil applications, textile processing, and as
fibre, plastics and resin processing aids.
