Hi-Tec Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluid 620 has been developed as a maximum safety fluid for hydraulic use near open flame or high temperature areas. A hazard exists wherever heat, molten metal or flame are near hydraulic equipment. Even a minute fracture in a line or fitting can send a combustible spray of oil into the heat source. Severe injury, property damage, destruction of plant and machinery and production delays can be caused by the ensuing fire.

1. Where should Fire Resistant Hydraulic Fluid 620 be used?
It is recommended for hydraulic systems operating near open flames, molten metal, and high-temperature environments—such as die-casting machines, forging presses, furnaces, foundries, glass forming machines, and coke oven door mechanisms.
2. How fire-resistant is this hydraulic fluid?
It is formulated to be non-explosive and provide a high degree of fire resistance, significantly reducing the risk of ignition if leaks occur.
3. What is the maximum recommended operating temperature?
To avoid excessive water evaporation, the fluid should not exceed 60°C in normal operation.
4. Is this fluid compatible with most hydraulic system materials?
Yes, it is compatible with most metals and typical seal materials such as NBR, EPDM, HNBR, and polyurethane. However, it is not recommended for systems containing zinc, lead, cadmium, or fluorocarbon (Viton) seals.
5. Can it replace mineral hydraulic oils?
Yes. It can be used in most industrial pumps up to 210 bar, though pump manufacturers’ derating guidelines should be followed when converting from mineral oil systems.
6. Does it affect industrial paints or coatings?
Water-glycol fluids can soften many oil-resistant paints. Phenolic, epoxy coatings, or vitreous enamel are recommended for external surfaces.
